BJ Bormann, PhD
Vice President, Strategic Alliances, Pfizer, Inc.

BJ is a graduate of Fairfield University and obtained her PhD in Biomedical Science from the University of Connecticut Health Center, Farmington, CT. Beginning as a postdoctoral research fellow in 1985 in the Yale University School of Medicine, B.J. continued research at Yale as a Research Affiliate until 1989. From 1989 to 1996, B.J. worked as a research scientist at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in Ridgefield, CT where she worked in the area of molecular biology of cell adhesion and T-cell based therapeutic approaches and was responsible for coordination of activities to progress developmental candidates into clinical trials.

In 1996 B.J. came to Pfizer as a Project Analyst in the R&D Operations group (Strategic Alliances). Since joining Pfizer, B. J. has worked in a number of positions of increasing responsibility within the SA group, most recently serving as Vice President, Pfizer Global R&D and the Head of Strategic Alliances. SA's activities over the years have covered the full range of investments for R&D from Discovery through Exploratory and Full Development, Product Enhancement, Manufacturing as well as Licensing of early candidate molecules.
