John P. Richard

John P. Richard currently serves as Senior Business Advisor to GPC Biotech AG, as Chairman of Altus Pharmaceuticals Inc., as a partner with Georgia Venture Partners, and as a consultant to Nomura Phase4 Ventures. Previously, Mr. Richard was Executive Vice President, Business Development, at SEQUUS Pharmaceuticals, where he was responsible for negotiating the acquisition of SEQUUS by ALZA Corporation in 1999. Prior to SEQUUS, Mr. Richard headed business development for VIVUS and Genome Therapeutics Corporation. In 1987 he co-founded and served as original CEO of IMPATH Inc., a leading cancer diagnostics business now a part of Genzyme. He serves on the boards of several biotechnology companies including Altus Pharmaceuticals, Targacept, Macroflux, Zygogen, and Metastatix. Mr. Richard received his MBA from Harvard Business School and his BS from Stanford University.
