Bruce W. Smith
Executive Vice President Strategy and Business Development, Theragenics Corporation

Bruce W. Smith is Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for Theragenics Corporation, and also serves as the Company's Corporate Secretary. Theragenics is a medical device company serving the cancer treatment and surgical markets.

Mr. Smith became Theragenics' first Financial Manager in January 1987 following the Company's initial public offering during September 1986. He has served as a corporate officer since 1989, when he was promoted to the position of Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and Treasurer. He served in this position until August 2002, when he turned his attention full-time to Business Development.

Prior to joining Theragenics, Mr. Smith worked in both financial and business development positions with Duracell Incorporated and Rockwell International.

Mr. Smith received his M.B.A. from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University where he was a F.C. Austin Scholar. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and first in his graduating class from the College of Business Administration at the Ohio State University.
